As a child growing
up in New York City, I wore braces on both legs and spent most days
looking out my window and drawing what I observed. I developed a love
for a wide range of arts and crafts.
After graduating
from college in Illinois, I moved south to Fort Lauderdale, Florida,
where I pursued a career and raised a family.
Twelve years ago,
my husband and I purchased a cabin in the North Carolina mountains on
the shores of Lake Chatuge. Inspired by the beauty of nature
surrounding our home, I was drawn back to my love for drawing and
began painting in oils and pastels.
Since moving to
Atlanta six years ago I have studied with several well-known local and
national artists. My work has been accepted in many local and regional
juried art shows, and is in private collections throughout the U.S. I
am a member of the Roswell Fine Arts Alliance, the Southeastern Pastel
Society, and the North Cobb Art League.
The inspiration
for my work comes from time I have spent on the coast of Florida, in
the Georgia and North Carolina mountains, and my travels across the
United States and Europe. I continue to find fresh, new worlds all
around me.
My goal is to tell a story by capturing a time, place
and mood that I can share with a viewer. My favorite subjects are
ordinary people doing ordinary things.
