Cyndi Marble

Pastel is my favorite medium and has been since I picked up my first pastel stick.  I feel a kinship with the world's first artists who drew on cave walls with pieces of pigment or charcoal.  I create landscapes en plein air as well as studio work.  Animals are a favorite subject, perhaps because I grew up on a small farm and know them well.   I also enjoy figurative work because the human form is amazing and difficult to portray successfully.  I find the world to be a glorious place, full of beautiful colors, and I bring this to life in my paintings.

I am a member of excellence in the Southeastern Pastel Society and a juried member of the Degas Pastel Society in New Orleans.  I have exhibited nationwide including the Pastel Society of America and the International Association of Pastel Societies, winning numerous awards. My work hangs in private collections throughout the country.
